A Charming Bistro Locals Frequent in Brussels
Belgium is famous for its excellent moules & frites. Another dish seafood lovers should not miss during their visit in Brussels is oysters at Le Marmiton, a charming bistro in the heart of Brussels inside busy Les Galerie Royales Saint-Hubert.
After days of indulging ourselves with mussels, fries, waffles, and chocolates during our last stay in Brussels, we were looking to enjoy a nice low key lunch. Then we stumbled upon Le Marmiton. It was a quiet rainy Sunday afternoon in September, but the restaurant was full of locals catching up with friends over glasses of wine.
Included in our order was a plateful of oysters along with a bubbly glass of champagne and shrimp croquette. Here, you enjoy oysters with lemon with a slice of bread and butter on the side. Belgian fresh oysters from the Flemish Coast by North Sea are quite large in size and full of flavor. Le Marmiton's oysters are incredibly fresh; they are delivered to the restaurant from the coast a couple of times a day. Le Marmiton serves delightful dishes in a cozy causal setting; be sure to visit if you're in Brussels next time.
