The 58th Venice Biennale Arte 2019 titled “May You Live in Interesting Times”, will be held on May 11 – November 24, 2019 in Venice, Italy. This year’s central exhibition will be curated by Ralph Rugoff, the director of London’s Hayward Gallery who mentioned that upcoming Biennale will go lower key on art object, and focus more on experiential, participatory aspects of art. The artists are being lined up, but what is noticeable this year is the increasing number of female artists including Turner Prize winning multimedia artist Laure Prouvost (France) and Eva Rothschild (Ireland).
